Recently, Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar appeared in a channel 24 show, hosted by Fiza Ali. In the interview, Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar talked about casting Sami Khan and dealing with his tantrums and apology.
Talking about replacing Sami Khan, Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar said, “No, I didn’t replace him because of a personal grudge; Sami made a mistake, although he has apologised to me for his wrongdoing, but still it was a sin committed by him. I am telling this story for you; otherwise, I had no intentions to share it. I was casting for my drama serial Love, Life Aur Lahore.
I finalised Moammar Rana, but producers didn’t want him; they suggested Sami’s name, who came to me for auditions, but I did not select him because it was the drama about the Walled City of Lahore, where the language is difficult. I knew he wouldn’t be able to do it better. Sami came and sat at my feet and said, ‘Sir, please do cast me; it will help me progress in my career.’ I instantly decided to cast him.
