Kisan Card inaugurates in Khyber

Kisan Card scheme was inaugurated in a ceremony held here in Jamrud, sub-division of district Khyber on Friday.
It is to be stated here that under the scheme, the card holders farmers will have subsidy on the price of wheat seeds, urea and necessary agricultural medicines and provision of agricultural equipments in first phase while in second phase they will get interest free loan, provision of insurance in case of damages to crops by natural disaster.
A gathering was organized in Jirga Hall, Jamrud that was attended by Provincial Ministers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Anwar Zeb and Iqbal Wazir as chief guests beside Member Provincial Assembly Shafiq Afridi, Director Agricultural extension merged districts Ziaul Islam Dawar number of local farmers, political workers, tribal elders and members of civil society.
Speaking on the occasion the Ministers said that as per vision of the Prime Minister Imran Khan, maximum facilities are providing to the growers to encourage them in their occupation.
Pakistan is an agrarian country thus the incumbent government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI)strives hard to equip the farmers with modern technology to enhance crops production to make the country self-sufficient in agricultural products, they remarked.
The speakers said that although due to strict economic policies of the present government, the poor suffer a lot but it is a temporary distress and soon they will overcome it and will grant relief to the masses.
At the end they gave away Kisan Cards to the deserving farmers of Khyber.
