PESHAWAR: Adviser to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor on information, public relations, relief, rehabilitation and settlement Samar Haroon Bilour has condemned the attack on police personnel deployed to protect polio teams in Mohmand district, in which two policemen were martyred and another injured. In a statement issued on Tuesday, she expressed grief over the deaths, saying the policemen had sacrificed their lives while performing their duties to protect polio workers and ensure the safety of children. She described the targeting of police personnel accompanying vaccination teams as highly condemnable and stressed the need for effective security arrangements for polio workers and police officials deployed during vaccination campaigns. Ms Bilour prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured policeman and extended condolences to the bereaved families. She also prayed for a high place in Jannah for the deceased and strength and patience for their families. The adviser also expressed concern over the abduction incident reported in Tank district and conveyed her sympathies to the affected families. She urged the relevant authorities to take effective measures to secure the safe recovery of the abducted individuals and bring those responsible to justice in accordance with the law. DLP Report
