PESHAWAR
A committee of the Provincial Assembly has summoned all Districts Education Officers (DEOs) to brief the members on the ongoing education department projects including steps to promote women’s education in the next committee meeting.
The meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Standing Committee on primary and secondary education department, presided over Pakhtun Yar, held here on Thursday at Assembly Conference Hall.
The standing committee directed the education department to remove deficiencies at the district level and to ensure availability of at least one each male and female middle and high school in each union council.
The members of the meeting held a detailed discussion over the procedures for the construction of new schools, including ghost and non-functional educational institutions, recruitments and transfer postings.
Orders were also issued to the Assembly administration to make arrangements to visit Swabi and Swat Cadet Colleges.
Members of the committee Naseerullah Khan, Abbas Ur Rehman, Mian Nisargul, Zeenat Bibi, Salahuddin, Bahadur Khan and MPA Shagufta Malik attended the meeting.
Additional Secretary and Special Secretary of Primary and Secondary Education Department, Deputy and Assistant Secretaries of Provincial Assembly, Chief Planning Officer of Education Department, Deputy Director Education also attended the meeting.
