Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Boards Employees Coordination Council who were protesting against the centralization of provincial education boards has called off their protest after successful talks with the provincial education minister Shahram Khan Tarakai.
A statement issued here on Tuesday said that the provincial education minister met with a delegation of the coordination and assured them that their demands would be met as soon as possible, adding that KP government has no plan to abolish any educational board of the province.
Shahram Khan said that the future of children could be put on stake, adding the provincial government would bring reforms in the educational boards and none of the employee of the board would be deprived of their due rights in promotion and up-gradation.
“No one’s promotion quota is being eliminated. The examination procedure will be further improved,” he maintained. KP Boards Employees Coordination Council Chairman Tariq and General Secretary Umar Farooq along with other board officials were also present on this occasion.
It is pertinent to mention here that the employees of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (KP-BISE) were protesting against the proposed government plan for centralizing eight boards of the province.
The employees had launched a strike against the move and were holding protests for the last couple of working days under the banner of KP Board Employees Coordination Council.
However, a delegation on Tuesday met with the provincial education minister and after assurance they decided to end their protest.
