The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has unanimously passed a resolution marking Kashmir Solidarity Day, observed on February 5, reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The resolution, presented by Provincial Law Minister Aftab Alam, highlights that the Kashmiri people have long faced illegal occupation, state repression, and serious, ongoing human rights violations.
It also references United Nations Security Council resolutions that uphold the Kashmiri people’s inalienable right to self-determination.
The resolution condemns India’s actions in Kashmir, describing them as unprecedented atrocities against innocent civilians.
It expresses Pakistan’s commitment to continue political, moral, and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people until they achieve their legitimate rights.
Further, the resolution emphasizes that the Kashmir issue remains a core part of Pakistan’s foreign policy and calls on the international community, particularly the United Nations, to ensure the implementation of Security Council resolutions.
The House paid tribute to the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs and strongly condemned human rights violations by Indian forces in the region.
