Under the chairmanship of Deputy Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Suraya Bibi, a meeting related to electricity was held in the assembly conference room in Upper Chitral in which Chief Engineer (PEDO) Jawad Haider and ARE (PEDO) Muhammad Wakeel participated. MNA Chitral Abdul Latif was also present on this occasion.
The Deputy Speaker emphasized on the elimination of low voltage and load shedding of electricity in Upper Chitral and said that due to heavy snowfall since February 8, people are facing severe problems due to reduction in electricity supply and electricity production has decreased.
He directed the PEDO authorities to hold a meeting with the DC Lower Chitral and Resident Engineer Golingol project officials to prepare a plan for power sharing so that the problem faced by the people of Upper Chitral is power supply, load management, weak power lines. And the problem of rehabilitation of the old rotten pipeline should be solved.
Deputy Speaker Suraya Bibi also met Chief Executive Pesco Akhtar Hameed and Chief Operation Pesco in this regard and said that due to the failure of the tower and reduced water generation at Lowari tunnel, the electricity load is high because the total generation there is 7 megawatts.
And the demand is 9 megawatts due to which the problem of electricity in Chitral is increasing day by day. Assuring his full cooperation, Pesco said that due to heavy snowfall, the tower of Loweri Tunnel would be repaired by April.
