The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of narcotics and seized 84 kilograms of hashish during a joint operation near the Charsadda interchange, officials said on Tuesday.
Acting on a tip-off received by the Excise Bureau of Intelligence, a joint team of the bureau and Excise Police Station Charsadda intercepted a suspicious vehicle, registration number AUZ-464 Islamabad, on Ghani Khan Road leading towards the Charsadda interchange.
During the search, officers recovered 84,000 grams of hashish concealed in the vehicle. A case has been registered at Excise Police Station Mardan Region for further investigation and legal proceedings.
The department reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a zero-tolerance policy against drug smuggling and other illegal activities across the province. It stated that operations would continue without discrimination and all available resources would be utilized to rid society of the menace of narcotics.
