The provincial department for finance on Wednesday officially launched the KP Digital Workspace system with the signing and issuance of its first e-summary, said a handout.
The summary was signed by the Advisor to the Chief Minister on Finance, Muzammil Aslam.
“This is not just a technological upgrade, it’s a cultural shift in how we work,” said Mr. Aslam. “By adopting KP-DWS, we are cutting delays, reducing costs, and setting a new standard for accountability. I commend my team and all stakeholders for ensuring a seamless transition.”
With this development, the Finance Department becomes the first to fully adopt the digital system, the statement said and added that it will be effective from July 1, 2025 as all summaries must be processed through KP-DWS, enabling faster approvals, real-time tracking, and significant savings in time and resources.
The digital transition is part of the KP Revenue Mobilization Program (KPRMP), implemented by the provincial government with support from the World Bank. KP-DWS offers a unified platform for secure document management, electronic approvals, and inter-departmental coordination, designed to replace outdated manual processes across administrative departments.
To facilitate smooth on boarding, the KPRMP team and its implementing partner conducted extensive hands-on training sessions for government officials, receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback. With the successful rollout of the E-Summary Module, attention is now turning to the Receipts and Issues (R&I) Module, which will further streamline internal government workflows.
The platform’s design draws on best practices from similar systems successfully implemented elsewhere in Pakistan, customized to suit KP’s administrative structure and needs.
