KP food authority sets up 24/7 control room for Ramazan

Under the Ramazan Plan of the provincial government, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority has established a special complaint control room to ensure the provision of safe and quality food to citizens during the holy month.
A spokesperson for the authority said the control room would remain operational round the clock, enabling the public to lodge complaints against substandard, unsafe or adulterated food items without delay.
Citizens can register complaints through the toll-free number 0800-37432 or by sending a message via WhatsApp at 0345-1009348.
Director General of the authority Kashif Iqbal Jilani said all complaints received would be addressed on a priority basis and that food safety teams had been directed to ensure prompt action. He warned that strict legal proceedings would be initiated against those found involved in violations.
He urged the public to support the authority’s drive against food adulteration by promptly reporting violations to help ensure the availability of safe and hygienic food for all during Ramazan.
