Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Communications and Works Minister Shakil Ahmad on Tuesday said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government had approved development projects worth around Rs1.5 billion for Malakand district, particularly PK-23 constituency, with work expected to begin soon.
In a statement, the provincial minister said the tendering process for the projects had been completed and construction activities would commence shortly while ensuring transparency and quality standards.
He said the projects included the construction of an important link road from Bakhshali to Falingai, a longstanding demand of local residents. The completion of the road would improve connectivity, reduce travel time and contribute to the growth of the local economy, he added.
Mr Shakil said the provincial government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was accelerating development activities across all districts and ensuring fair distribution of resources.
He said the development of Malakand district remained among the government’s top priorities and all available resources were being utilised to provide basic facilities to the people.
The minister added that the projects would not only provide modern transport facilities but also create new employment opportunities, contributing to the region’s overall socio-economic development.
He directed the relevant authorities to complete all schemes within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining quality and transparency. He reiterated that all commitments made to the public would be fulfilled and efforts would continue to take Malakand towards greater development and prosperity.
