KP govt asked to restore local body law in original form

SWAT: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) backed mayors and tehsil chairmen from Malakand division have demanded restoration of Local Government Act in its original form and immediate provision of promised funds to all local bodies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They also demanded the forthwith release of PTI founder Imran Khan. The demands were made at a meeting held here on Wednesday at Chakdara Fishing Hut and chaired by Swat City Mayor Shahid Ali Khan. Addressing the meeting, Swat City Mayor Shahid Ali Khan demanded the restoration of the Local Government Act 2019 to its original form and announced a protest movement for the release of PTI founder Imran Khan. The local body representatives raised serious concerns about the deteriorating law and order situation in Malakand Division, and law enforcement agencies were urged to take action. A coordination committee was established, with representatives from each district. The committee members include, Shahid Ali Khan mayor Swat as President Dr. Khalil from Bajaur as Information Secretary, Feroze Shah,Tehsil Adinzai Chakdara as Finance Secretary. Saeed Khan from Swat Kabal, Rozi Khan from Buner and others were named as members of the committee. DLP Report
