KP Govt determined for strengthening role of Private sector Schools

Peshawar(PR): Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary & Secondary Education (E&SE) Department is determined to strengthen the role of private School sector through its private school Regulatory Authority, said the Additional Secretary, Elementary and secondary education Department Peshawar Mr. Qaisar Alam during a live weekly talk show of E&SE on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa radio FM 92.2.
“This Regulatory authority will not only scrutinize the fee structure of the private schools, but will also standardize the uniformity in the syllabus aligned with the national curriculum. At the moment, around 521 private schools within Peshawar, with almost 17,000 students have been registered with the BISE (Board of intermediate and secondary education Peshawar) for grade 5 assessments. We are hoping to receive more registration from all the 8 boards across KP. The ESED is working on the Private Schools’ Regularity Authority to effectively regulate and support private education sector. As part of its policy of transparency and public participation the ESED is making the draft bill available to the general public for their feedback. The Department has uploaded a copy of the bill on its official website (http://kpese.gov.pk/download.html), stated by Mr. Qaisar Alam Additional Secretary ESED; while responding to the live calls on FM 92.2.
The Elementary & Secondary Education Department (E&SED) is currently running a public awareness campaign to educate the general public on various reforms initiatives of KP E&SED.
These programmes are aired on every Thursday on official radio channel of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (FM 92.2) while live calls are also taken during the program and on Facebook page of E&SED (www.facebook.com/kpese.gov.pk).The 15th episode was an open forum for live calls and questions. Mr. Qaisar Alam, Additional Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary and Secondary Education Department, Education Advisor Mr. Jamal Uddin, appeared as the guest in the show.
