Elementary and Secondary Education Department Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has initiated Science, Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) program in collaboration with Coded Minds Pakistan (Pvt) Limited, to provide scientific education to the students of public sector schools.
Both the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide STEM Education to as many students as possible, studying in the government schools throughout the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
This MoU would remain effective as agreed with full force for a term of five years starting from the date of signing of this MoU and will be revised or extended whenever required with mutual consent of both parties.
Change of governments, audit observation and any change of the nomenclature will not affect the description and operations agreed in this MoU.
According to documents available with APP, Coded Minds has the responsibility to provide education (curriculum of the given technology courses, learning resources and potential teaching assistants) from Kacchi (KG) to grade 10 for the entire academic year announced to teach STEM courses to the government school students across the province. Coded Minds will provide relevant teacher training to the government school teachers in acquiring modern teaching project-based learning mechanism.
The E&SE KP will allow and provide all possible logistical, infrastructures and administrative support through the existing government schools across the province. In order to organize academic operations (either virtual or on campus learning), the E&SE will share the details of the student body to be taught in different phases.
For training the teachers and operational ramp up (either virtual or on campus learning), the E&SE will share the details of teachers working for government schools to Coded Minds.
Similarly, the Coded Minds will provide the 15 international certification courses three in one academic year to a student in five years.
The curriculum of the program will be finalized by mutual consultation.
An international certification will be given to all the students who have successfully completed the course.
The E&SE will provide equal opportunities to both girls and boys students and teachers.
A steering committee will be formed, to review the performance and operational strategies.
The Coded Minds will facilitate and make efforts to offer employment opportunities to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa youth to execute the projects across the province and will also offer employment opportunities to certified students as per the company requirements.
The fees of each certificate per student is USD 10 (1600 PKR), the fees of three courses per student is USD 30 (5000 PKR) per year and the fees of teaching certificate per teacher is USD 60 (10,000 PKR) the documents revealed.
