PESHAWAR
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa caretaker minister for local government Amir Durrani has reiterated that the provincial government would holding of the upcoming general elections in the most transparent and impartial manner.
He expressed these views while chairing an important meeting regarding the upcoming general elections in the province.
The meeting was attended by secretary local government Dawood Khan, special secretary Muhammad Masood, Sajid Gul, coordinator for local government and other relevant officials.
The forum was informed that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s necessary preparations for the holding the upcoming general election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been finalized.
According to a statement, a detailed briefing was given to the election staff on the measures taken in connection with the facilities challenges and other weather and security measures in the polling stations of the province.
The chair was informed that a comprehensive security plan has been devised after consultation with departments including education, health, local government, Rescue-1122, higher education and other relevant departments for the election day in KP.
On this occasion, a detailed discussion was also held on the sensitive polling stations in the province.
The authorities also gave a detailed briefing on transportation, food and other facilities for the election staff in remote areas.
They also discussed taking prior permission from the concerned deputy commissioners and added that soon the Chief Election Commissioner will visit the entire province and review the election arrangements.
The meeting was informed that for the election, 108,992 male staff and 62,907 per male staff are required in the province. The authorities have provided transport and other facilities for female staff in Kohistan and other remote areas and also presented the plan regarding the security plan.
The authorities said that along with the implementation of the emergency plan on the occasion of the election day, the health department will also provide lady health workers and other staff and also get the services of rescue 1122.
Engineer Aamir Durrani also directed all the concerned departments to keep in touch with each other on election preparation and progress.
