Special Advisor to Chief Minister for Information and Public Relations, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif on Tuesday revealed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to file cases against the prominent leaders of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) leadership for hurling allegations and hateful statements against the ‘state institutions’.
“They (PDM leaders) in the past have made different hateful statements against the army, judiciary and other state institutions. The provincial government would register cases against them in KP,” Barrister Saif stated.
Additional Assistant Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Munir Ahmed has been empowered to register cases under Section 196 and in light of the decision of the Provincial Cabinet.
These cases will be registered under Sections 108A, 153A and 505 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Following the decision of the provincial cabinet, the administration department has also issued a notification to this end. Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif further said that Additional Assistant Commissioner DI Khan will file cases on the complaint of former federal minister and PTI leader Ali Amin Gandapur or any other person.
He clarified that the leaders of some parties in the PDM have been targeting the army, judiciary and other state institutions during rallies, press conferences and many other occasions.
“These cases are being registered in the past due to the same insulting, hateful and inflammatory statements made by him,” he added.
