KP: JUI-F, PPP, ANP initiate seat adjustment talks

The delegation of JUI Fazal visited Bacha Khan Markaz, headquarters of ANP, as part of the ongoing formal talks on the seat adjustment in KP for the coming general elections. The delegation consisted of JUI-F provincial spokesperson Maulana Jalil Jan and former lawmaker Asif Iqbal Daudzai while the ANP delegation was represented by Senator Hidayatullah, Khadim Hussain, and Syed Masoom Shah. It is pertinent to mention here that the members of the delegation who met today at Bacha Khan Markaz were nominated members of the committee formed by ANP and JUI-F for seat adjustment for upcoming general elections.
Similarly, ANP delegation consisting of Senator Hidayatullah, Khadim Hussain, and Syed Masoom Shah visited Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Syed Zahir Shah residence to discuss seat adjustment mechanism for the general elections in the province.
PPP leaders including Provincial Information Secretary Amjad Khan Afridi, Karamatullah Khan Chaghramti, Provincial Deputy General Secretary Malik Tamash Khan Peshawar Division President Misbah-ud-Din received the ANP delegation and discussed the overall situation in the province in views of general elections and possible seat adjustment between the two parties.
Earlier in the day, a delegation composed of ANP, PPP and QWP senior leaders had visited JUI-F headquarters in Peshawar Mufti Mahmood Markaz to form committees for a proposed alliance for the Feb 8 polls.
Sources said that ANP, in the current political scenario, is interested in forming an alliance with JUI-F in the KP’s central districts. Similarly, PPP is also looking for seat adjustment with JUI-F and ANP in central districts of the province and Malakand division.
