KP minister briefed Torkham border issues

A meeting was held in Landikotal on Thursday to discuss the border management issues and progress on the work for keeping Torkham border open for 24 hours.
Flanked by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) finance minister, Saleem Taimoor Jaghra and Finance secretary, Shakeel Qadir; Deputy Commissioner district Khyber, Mehmood Aslam Wazir; Lt Col Faisal Khan; Deputy superintendent of Police Landikotal, Swalzar Khan Afridi and officials of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA)and Frontier Corps(FC) attended the meeting.
The minister was briefed about the border management and was also informed about the shortage of immigration staffs and other issues on the border.
The minister Saleem Taimoor issued directions to the concerned departments to speed up their homework to keep Torkham border open round the clock as per the announcement of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
He added that the government was serious to settle all issues of the tribal area on priority bases.
He said that this act of remaining the border open for 24 hours a day would boost bilateral trade with Afghanistan. It would also facilitate passengers on the Torkham border crossing, he said.
Later, the KP finance minister met with tribal elders, minorities and his party activists. they informed Taimoor Jaghra regarding basic issues of the area and he assured them that their government was engaged to resolve their issues.
