KP ministers inspect ongoing construction at Arbab Niaz Stadium

Secretary of Sports and Youth Affairs, Muhammad Zia ul Haq, Secretary of Communications and Works Department, Dr. Muhammad Israr along with Additional Secretary of Sports Pir Abdullah Shah, Director General of Sports Abdul Nasir Khan and other senior officials from the department as well as the Superintendent Engineer, Executive Engineer and other staff from the Department of C&W, consultants for the stadium construction project and relevant contractors were also present during the visit.
The provincial minister and other government representatives were briefed about the remaining work in the final phase of the stadium’s construction.The Executive Engineer from C&W provided details about the completed work and progress toward finalizing the project.
During the visit, the Provincial Minister for Sports stated that the construction work on the Arbab Niaz Stadium is nearing completion and is in its final stages.He instructed that to expedite the remaining work for the timely handover of the stadium, work should continue in three shifts while progress in this regard should be reviewed on a daily basis.
The Provincial Minister also mentioned that soon PSL matches will be held at this stadium and the people of the province will soon be able to witness international cricket here.He further emphasized that the people of the province will soon see national and international players and heroes playing at this important stadium, which after years of waiting, will finally be ready for cricket enthusiasts.
Advisor for Finance Muzammil Aslam, on the occasion said that the Arbab Niaz Stadium is an important ground for cricket in the province and there will be no issues from the government’s side in ensuring the swift completion and handover of the project.
He added that this stadium would meet high standards and accommodate a larger number of spectators. The local people will soon be able to watch their national players, as nearly half of the national cricket team hails from this province.
During the visit, the Special Assistant for C&W, Sohail Afridi, instructed the officials of C&W Department to expedite the necessary steps to ensure the timely completion and handover of the project, so as to avoid any further delays.
