PESHAWAR: A delegation of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Olympic Association on Tuesday met the Adviser to the Chief Minister on Sports Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand to discuss issues related to the promotion of sports and players’ welfare in the province. The delegation, led by Syed Aqil Shah, highlighted the prolonged suspension of grants to sports associations, stating that funds had not been released for the past five years, causing financial difficulties for players representing the province in national and international events. Mr Tarand assured the delegation of full cooperation and said that the pending grants would be released soon. He added that cash prizes would also be announced for medal winners of the National Games, and a ceremony would be held to honour them. DLP Report
