Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Peshawar Institute of Cardiology (PIC) on Wednesday organised a ceremony in connection with International Nurses Day to pay homage to the excellent services of the nursing staff.
The ceremony was attended by the Chief Executive Medical Director of PIC Professor Dr Shahkar Ahmed Shah, Hospital Director Dr Nimat Shah and a large number of senior faculty, management and nurses of the hospital.
The ceremony was named after the nurse who died due to illness last month while the ceremony was celebrated in a simple manner remembering nurse Muhammad Abrar.
On this occasion PIC Director Nursing Officer highlighted the services of nursing staff at the hospital.
Nurses were also sworn in for their service to humanity and the best care and services of the patients coming to the PIC. Dr Shahkar Ahmed Shah said that nursing is like the backbone of the health sector and their role in every field is impeccable, they spend all their time in the service of humanity, leaving aside their personal life and affairs.
He said that PIC is proud of the role of nurses due to which the patients coming here are getting the best services and that is why PIC has a special place.
Director of the hospital Dr Nimat Shah said that no matter what the situation is, be it war or an epidemic situation, nurses always dedicate themselves to the care of patients without caring about their own lives and become the axis of hope for the people.
Shields and prizes were given to the nurses in different categories to encourage the nurses in the event.
As the best team leader, Director Nursing Officer Dad and Manager Nursing Nazak Bibi were awarded with high performance shields. While 3 assistant managers, 15 head nurses, 4 nurses of the rapid response team, 2 nurses of the infection control unit were given certificates for their good performance, while 10 team lead nurses and 18 other nurses were given certificates for their excellent performance and timely response in various wards and units.
