PESHAWAR
The provincial minister for elementary and secondary education Shahram Khan Tarakai on Tuesday sought a detailed report from the official concerned on the prefabricated infrastructure development in government-run schools damaged by the recent flash floods across the province.
He issued these instructions in a meeting held to review damaged public sector schools in the different districts.
The meeting was informed that after the recent flash floods immediate measures were put in place and education activities have been formally started in more than 810 schools which were partially or slightly damaged by the floods.
The provincial minister issued instructions to the concerned officers to form an immediate committee to submit its report to the education minister within three to four days about the schools where education activities have resumed.
The education minister said that children’s education will not be affected in any way, adding that children are the asset of the nation and any kind of negligence will not be tolerated even in terms of relief measures.
The Education Minister was also briefed about all the vacancies and teacher recruitments in the Education Department.
Shahram Khan added that the process of promotion of the existing staff should be completed immediately on all the vacant posts in the department.
Immediately after which the recruitment process for the vacant posts will be completed on an emergency basis.
