PESHAWAR: The Provincial Election Commissioner Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Saeed Gul, has directed that foolproof arrangements be made for the third phase of local government by-elections scheduled to be held on October 19, in 12 seats across 7 districts of the province, said a handout. He emphasized that such arrangements should ensure that voters can exercise their right to vote freely and without fear. He expressed these views while chairing a high-level review meeting held at his office in Peshawar to assess the election preparations. The meeting was attended by officials from the police, provincial government, and other relevant departments. During the meeting, Director Elections, Mr. Muhammad Nadeem Khan, gave a detailed briefing on the arrangements for the upcoming third phase of local government by-elections on October 19, 2025, and the by-elections for the vacant National Assembly seats NA-1 (Chitral) and NA-18 (Haripur) scheduled for November 23, 2025. The meeting was informed that elections in KP will be conducted in seven districts — Kohat, D.I. Khan, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Malakand, Shangla, and Upper Dir, where 12 Village Council seats were vacant. All necessary arrangements for these elections have been completed. A total of 88,359 voters will exercise their right to vote. For this purpose, 66 polling stations and 201 polling booths have been established. DLP Report
