PESHAWAR
An important meeting held here on Tuesday with chief minister Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur in the chair, reviews the provincial government initiative to set-up emergency rooms and telemedicine centres in the government-run hospitals of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Provincial Health Minister, Chief Minister’s Adviser on Finance, Additional Chief Secretary Planning and senior officials of the Health Department attended the meeting.
Officials of the private organization Child Life Foundation also participated in the meeting.
In the meeting, the issues related to the establishment of children’s emergency rooms and telemedicine satellite centers in the government hospitals of the province were discussed.
Briefing the meeting on various aspects of the proposed program for setting up emergency rooms and telemedicine satellite centers.
The forum was informed that the aim of setting up emergency rooms and telemedicine centers is to significantly reduce the rising child mortality rate.
The establishment of emergency rooms and telemedicine centers will ensure timely provision of emergency treatment facilities to children, the meeting said.
Under the proposed program, it is proposed to establish nine emergency rooms and 100 telemedicine satellite centers in the province.
The establishment of these state-of-the-art emergency rooms and telemedicine centers will provide healthcare facilities to people at their doorsteps, the briefing said.
These emergency rooms and satellite centers will be established in government teaching and secondary hospitals of the province, the briefing said
These emergency rooms and satellite centers will be staffed 24 hours by doctors and other trained staff, briefings.
