PESHAWAR: Provincial minister for higher education Meena Khan Afridi chaired a consultative meeting on the establishment of a provincial Higher Education Commission (HEC). The meeting was attended by Vice Chancellor (VC) of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) Dr. Jamil, along with other advisors. Participants shared insights on procedures and models of education commissions functioning at both national and international levels. Minister Afridi said the provincial HEC would be established with a modern and contemporary vision while addressing the province’s specific needs. He stressed that the government would not take any hasty steps that might later need to be withdrawn. “The best provincial higher education commission at the national level will be established in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The consultation process will continue to ensure a well-structured and sustainable institution,” the minister added. DLP Report
