KP Traditional Games to start in Bannu, Mardan, Swabi, Lakki Marwat on Thursday

The traditional games organized by the Directorate of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are starting from May 19 in Lakki Marwat district in Bannu region for which all preparations have been completed.
The traditional games will be held in all regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including tribal districts, this was stated by Director Operation Aziz Ullah Jan. He was also accompanied by Deputy Director Jamshed Baloch.
These views were expressed by Director Operations Aziz Ullah Jan while talking to the media. He said that under the special directive of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan, Director General Sports KP Khalid Khan decided to have these Games for promoting traditional games in the province along with other sports.
The traditional games of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are starting from District Lakki Marwat in Bannu region, followed similarly at Mardan and other districts in different dates for which all preparations have been made well in time.
He said that these games are being organized in different regions of the province. There will be traditional games of the district and their competitions will be held there, followed by the same at Divisional level. He said likewise, the traditional Games would also be organized in the merged areas as well.
The competitions will start from May 19 in Bannu region. Lakki Marwat teams are participating in Kabaddi, Tug of War, Pitho Gol Garam, Gulli Danda, Balori and Volleyball competitions will be held in Bannu from May 21 to 22 in which Bannu teams are participating.
‘Gali Danda’ Goli and Pooch Pooch and Ghaskay competitions will be held in Waziristan in which Waziristan teams are participating. The Maakha competition will be held from May 29 to 31 in Swabi in which all the teams from Mardan region are participating. Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Dera Ismail Khan, Hazara, Bannu, Swat.
The finals will be held in the provincial capital Peshawar at the end of the year. Even the final games will be held in the districts where the traditional games will be held. He said that these games have been kept open for all.
To keep the traditional games alive and to promote them for which the Provincial Sports Directorate is taking all necessary steps. Steps are being taken to provide the best facilities to the players and officials and we will try our best to hold the final stage which will also be held in Peshawar in the best possible manner for which preparations will be made here.
