The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) has recorded a 21 per cent increase in sales tax on services during the first three quarters of the current fiscal year, reflecting improved tax compliance and enforcement.
According to official figures, KPRA collected Rs34.60 billion in sales tax on services during July–March of fiscal year 2025–26, compared to Rs28.60 billion in the corresponding period last year, marking an increase of Rs6bn.
The authority’s total revenue collection during the first nine months stood at Rs38.80bn, including Rs34.60bn from sales tax on services and Rs4.20bn from Infrastructure Development Cess (IDC).
Officials said the growth indicated sustained improvement in compliance, enhanced enforcement measures, and expansion of the tax base in the services sector across the province.
Director General KPRA Irum Naz commended the performance of the authority’s officers and staff, attributing the increase to effective planning, institutional commitment, and continued enforcement efforts.
She expressed confidence that the authority would achieve its annual targets through a data-driven approach and sustained focus on compliance.
Ms Naz also thanked taxpayers for their cooperation, terming it vital for continued revenue growth, and acknowledged the support of the provincial leadership in strengthening revenue mobilisation efforts.
