KPRA team visits business entities in Mardan

PESHAWAR: On the directives of KPRA Additional Collector Mardan & Malakand, Ms. Qurrat-ul-Ain Wazir, a team of KPRA under the supervision of Assistant Collector-II, Asad Khan paid visits to various business entitiesincluding hotels, restaurants, and wedding halls in District Mardan on Friday. The purpose of the visits was to ensure compliance with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sales Tax on Services Act, 2022 (amended in 2025). During the visits, taxpayers were guided on the mandatory implementation and integration of the RIMS. Enrollment Notices were served to newly established businesses. Additionally, illicit invoices were collected for the initiation of penal action. The team also checked that Sales Tax on Services (STS) payments were aligned with the actual economic activity of the businesses. APP
Peshawar admin launches tree plantation drive at waste dumping site
PESHAWAR: Following the directives of the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Forests, Environment, Wildlife, and Climate Change, Pir Musavir Khan, a large-scale afforestation campaign is underway across the province. In this regard, the Forest Department in collaboration with the District Administration Peshawar, has started tree planting along the Ring Road by cleaning up a waste dumping site. The plantation drive was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner Peshawar, Sarmad Saleem Akram, who planted a tree at the event. The ceremony was attended by Assistant Commissioner Shah Alam Ayesha Tahir, Divisional Forest Officer Peshawar Muhammad Shakeel, as well as other officers and staff from the Forest Department and District Administration. During the event, officers also planted trees under the “Jashn-e-Azadi” and “Mareka-e-Haq” special plantation campaigns. A total of 450 plants of different species were planted at the site. Speaking at the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Sarmad Saleem Akram emphasized that large-scale afforestation is essential for eliminating pollution in urban areas and for environmental protection. He stated that district administration is taking practical steps in collaboration with relevant departments to achieve this goal. He urged the public, particularly youth and students, to actively participate in the ongoing afforestation drive in Peshawar, as the provincial government believes that only through public involvement can the challenges of creating a greener environment, protecting the ecosystem, and combating the adverse effects of climate change be addressed. Divisional Forest Officer Peshawar Muhammad Shakeel, while speaking at the ceremony, mentioned that the Forest Department is taking effective measures in line with the special instructions of the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister to combat environmental pollution and promote a greener environment in Peshawar.
