PESHAWAR: Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) Medical Teaching Institution (MTI) has promoted 12 assistant professors to the posts of associate professors, with the hospital’s dean, director and promotion committee playing a key role in the process. According to LRH spokesperson Mohammad Asim, the promotions were approved following the recommendations of the relevant promotion committee. Those promoted include Dr Mohammad Ikram (Nephrology), Dr Mohammad Irshad (Paediatrics), Dr Ziaullah Khan Chamkani (Emergency), Dr Saad Ali (Neurology), Dr Inayatullah (Medicine), Dr Shahida Sultan (Gynaecology), Dr Syed Satwat Fatima (Gynaecology), Dr Samina Alia Sabir (Gynaecology), Dr Khawaja Fawad Parvez (Gynaecology), Dr Gul Sharif (General Surgery), Dr Mohammad Imran (Radiology) and Dr Mohammad Imran (Cardiothoracic Unit).
he spokesperson said the promotions would help strengthen teaching and academic activities at the hospital as well as further improve the quality of medical care being provided to patients. Dean Prof Sahibzada Mahmood Noor, Hospital Director Mohammad Tariq Barqi and members of the promotion committee were instrumental in the promotion process, according to the hospital.
