Khalil Khan Afridi was elected President while Umar Shinwari was chosen as General Secretary in the annual election of Landi Kotal Press Club held here on Saturday.
The five members election committee comprising by its chairman Rahat Shinwari,Sahid Khan,Aminul Haq,Ashrafuddin and Shahid Afridi conducted the election.
Members of the Landi Kotal Press Club utilized their right of votes.
As per details provided by the chairman election committee Khalil Khan Afridi got 13 votes while nearest opponent,Imran Shinwari bagged 12 votes for the President slot.
In the same way for the post of General Secretary, mar Shinwari received 14 votes while Aman Ali Shinwari got 11 votes.
Total 35 votes were casted in the election.
People from different walks of life and media persons from Jamrud and Landi Kotal press clubs attended the election process as observers carried out in Landi Kotal press club.
Tribal elites political, welfare and teachers association chiefs visited Landi Kotal press club and congratulated the new office bearers of the press club.
The newly elected President pledged that he would leave no stone unturned to work for the welfare of the journalist community of Landi Kotal.
