Laptops distributed among IPMS students

PESHAWAR: Vice Chancellor Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hafizullah said that after introducing BS 4years programs in more than ten specialties, MS program in three disciplines in Paramedical Sciences will also be launched in the upcoming days, he was talking as chief guest to the laptops distribution ceremony under the Prime Minister Laptop Scheme Phase-II at Institute of Paramedical Sciences (IPMS), Doran Pur Campus Peshawar. Registrar Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem, Director Academics and Admission Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ilyas Saeedi, Coordinator IPMS Mr. Jaseem Khan along with faculty were also present at the occasion.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hafizullah said shifting of IPMS to Doran Pur Campus was a new dawn for paramedics. It is a purpose built building which has not only sufficient place for academic purposes but it has also facilities for co-curricular activities.
He announced that 8-10 new well qualified and trained teachers would shortly be inducted in IPMS, whereas Mediaointment of two PhD faculty members will definitely increase the academic standard of the institute. He said Mediaointment of new in charge / consultant and two PhD teachers is in progress and they will soon join the institute, which will definitely enhance the academic as well as administrative level of IPMS.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hafizullah said computer labs should be used properly for academic purposes and the culture of assignment based learning will help in boosting the knowledge and skills of the students. He added that paramedics are the second wheel of health delivery system and without skilled and well trained paramedics the dream of a comprehensive health care system cannot be materialized.
Conviction, dedication and hard work are the keys of success and enhancement of knowledge and skills are the need of the day. Sympathetic and humble attitude towards the ailing humanity is not only the professional duty but it is also the ethical and moral responsibility of the Muslim health workers.
He urged the students to work hard and they should use the given laptops for academic and research purposes. Merit culture should be encouraged at all levels and we in KMU strongly believe on merit during admissions, Mediaointments, awarding scholarships and laptops distribution, he added.
