The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council has announced a complete court boycott across the province today, in protest against the alleged unlawful arrest of lawyer Ali Zaman. In a statement, Malik Imad Azam, Chairman Executive of the KP Bar Council, said the boycott would involve all bar associations in the province, resulting in a halt to court proceedings. The lawyers’ community in the statement termed Zaman’s arrest unconstitutional and a violation of the law. They warned that if Zaman was not released immediately, protests would escalate, and those responsible would be held accountable.
