Prominent political and religious leaders have condemned the deadly bomb blast in Bajaur district that claimed the lives of Assistant Commissioner Nawagai Faisal Sultan, Tehsildar Abdul Wakil Khan and others.
Expressing profound grief over the incident, Abdul Wasi, JI leader, extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
He urged the federal and provincial governments to take immediate notice of the deteriorating law and order situation in Bajaur and other parts of the province.
He said the fresh wave of violence reflects a dangerous rise in militancy, particularly in the former tribal districts, where even government officials are no longer safe. “The central and provincial governments have failed to prioritize security.
Meanwhile, Awami National Party (ANP) Central President Senator Aimal Wali Khan also voiced strong condemnation over the attack. He termed the incident a tragic consequence of the state’s indecisiveness and continued ambiguity in its approach toward militancy.
“This attack is a clear manifestation of the state’s weakness and the dual policy toward terrorists. Unless the National Action Plan is fully implemented on the ground, such tragedies will continue,” Aimal Wali Khan said.
He demanded full implementation of the National Action Plan, severing of all state ties with militant elements, immediate justice for the victims, a comprehensive martyrs’ package for their families, and accelerated security and development measures in conflict-hit regions.
