LHC imposes fine on NAB for filing unnecessary application against Pervaiz Elahi

Lahore High Court (LHC ) has imposed fine amounting to Rs 2 lac on NAB for filing unnecessary application against former Chief Minister (CM) Punjab in the court.
A two members bench of LHC presided over by Justice Tariq Salim Sheikh took up for hearing the petition related to provision of NAB inquiry record to Pervaiz Elahi Wednesday.
The court slapped fine amounting to R s 2 lac on NAB for filing unnecessary application against Pervaiz Elahi.
Court dismissed NAB application declaring it unnecessary.
The court remarked NAB application is tantamount to waste the time of court.
It is pertinent to mention here that NAB while challenging Accountability Court (AC) decision regarding provision of record of NAB inquiry to Pervaiz Elahi had taken plea inquiry record cannot be provided as per NAB rules.
AC had ordered NAB to provide record related to inquiry into development projects reference to Pervaiz Elahi.
The reference related to corruption in development projects is pending hearing in AC.
