LHC moved seeking removal of Nawaz Sharif name from hospitals, educational institutions

LAHORE : Lahore High Court (LHC) has been moved seeking removal of Nawaz Sharif name from hospitals, educational institutions and other places.

Punjab government, chief secretary Punjab and secretary local government have been made respondents in the petition.

The petitioner took the plea that several hospitals, educational institutions, and welfare institutions are attributed to Nawaz Sharif. Nawaz Sharif is now convicted, proclaimed offender and disqualified by the courts on the charges of corruption, therefore, how can hospitals and educational institutions be attributed to a convicted person.

Court is requested to order for removing the name of Nawaz Sharif from all the institutions, the petitioner prayed.
