LHC orders for administration of oath to CM Punjab till today

Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed governor Punjab should ensure the completion of the process of administration of oath of Chief Minister of Punjab, either himself or through his nominee, in terms of the Article 255 of the constitution, on or before April 28, 2022.

Chief Justice (CJ) Lahore High Court (LHC) Muhammad Amir Bhatti while announcing reserved judgment on the petition of Hamza Sharif wrapped up the petition Wednesday.

Justice Muhammad Amir Bhatti remarked in his decision the province is running without chief minister since 25 days. Delay in the administration of oath to newly elected chief minister is against the constitution. The court’s order be sent to governor forthwith. Governor Punjab is bound to administer oath to chief minister as per law.

The court ordered to send copies of the decision to president Arif Alvi and governor Punjab Umar Sarfraz Cheema.
