Closure of social media App X
LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has summoned counsel for the federal government in the matter of closure of social media app X. Petition filed by Hafiz Shakir Mehmood came up for hearing before single bench of LHC led by Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan. The court remarked during the hearing of the case that decision will be taken for issuing notice or otherwise after hearing the stance of counsel for federal government. The petitioner took the plea that closing X is tantamount to snatching freedom and basic rights. Freedom of any citizen cannot be snatched constitutionally. Federal government and others have been made respondents in the petition. APP
