LHC wraps up petition related to cancellation of arrest warrants of Rana Sana Ullah

Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench has wrapped up petition related to cancellation of arrest warrants of interior minister Rana Sana Ullah.
DG Anti Corruption Punjab said we don’t want to arrest Rana Sana Ullah. Name cannot be removed from the case when challan is filed.

The judge remarked during the hearing of the case that the institutions have become political instrument. One comes and files the case and second comes and abolishes the case.

The court while addressing DG Anti Corruption remarked was FIR direct on Rana Sana Ullah or it was on source report.

DG Anti corruption Nadim Sarwar told the court FIR was filed on source report.

The court inquired that who processed this source report and also quoted the verdict in Moonis Elahi’s case by the High Court as a reference, we have to follow it, the court added.
The court expressed its displeasure on DG Anti-Corruption. The judge stated that DG Anti-Corruption would have known if the anti-corruption had processed the notice. How can you stay as DG.

While expressing annoyance on DG Anti Corruption the court remarked your institution has become political tool.
The court remarked “ you obtained arrest warrants of Rana Sana Ullah through false statement. Tell the court if you want to arrest Rana Sanaullah or otherwise.

DG Anti corruption replied we don’t want to arrest Rana Sana Ullah.
Later the court wrapped up Rana Sana Ullah petition and sent the case to subordinate court remarking the trial court will decide the case.

The court remarked the petitioner can file his acquittal plea for section 249-A in trial court.
