LANDIKOTAL
A grand literary event was organized in Landikotal to mark the 31st death anniversary of renowned Pashto sufi poet Ameer Hamza Khan Shinwari, popularly known as Hamza Baba on Sunday.
The event was jointly arranged by the Khyber Youth Affairs Department and the Khyber Pakhto Adabi Jirga.
The gathering was attended by poets, writers, intellectuals and community elders from different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including the Khyber district.
Speakers highlighted the Hamza Baba’s literary contributions and his significant role in Pashto poetry and literature.
On this occasion, renowned poets presented their poetic tributes dedicated to Hamza Baba, which were highly appreciated by the audience.
At the end of the event, the Khyber Pakhto Adabi Jirga and Hamza Baba’s family members expressed gratitude to the Khyber Youth Affairs Department for organizing such a meaningful commemoration. Honorary shields and awards were also distributed among prominent poets and writers.
The event concluded with all participants visiting Hamza Baba’s mausoleum and offering a floral wreath.
