Anjuman-e-Tajeran, Landi Kotal announced a shutter down strike tomorrow (Sunday) against imposition of conservation fee in the bazaar.
Addressing to a press conference in District Press Club, Landi Kotal on Saturday President of the traders union Yad Wazir Shinwari flanked by his cabinet members said that Tehsil Municipal Authority assisted by local administration officials on forcibly collected the conservation fee(Rs. 300)from each of the shopkeepers without their approval.
When we resisted against it, the Assistant Commissioner, Landi Kotal cautioned them that till consent of the conservation fee, the administration would bother the local traders, he added.
He maintained that on the last day more than a dozen shops were sealed by the local administration on pretext of encroachment and hoarding that was injustice to them.
Shinwari stated until the TMO shows its efficiency in the sanitation activities in the bazaar, they will accept implementation of conservation fee.
He asked the local shopkeepers to suspend their business centers till withdrawal of the conservation fee.
The traders’ union head warned that till acceptance of their demand they would not give up their agitation.
The business community demanded of the concerned authorities to protect them from the unkindness attitude of the administrative officials and posted honest and pro-traders officials in the tehsil.
