Locals block road against power disconnection to Bara

Pak-Afghan highway was suspended for all kinds of traffic near Bara Bridge at frontier road, subdivision Bara against forcibly power cutting by residents of Matani, area of Peshawar here on Saturday.
Hundreds of tribesmen of Mirghat Khel, the sub-tribe of Aka Khel appeared on the road and blocked the road by putting hurdles on it.
They founded tent at the road and initiated a protest sit-in in the middle of the highway.
Speaking on the occasion those led the agitation were including elder Attaullah Afridi, Mighat Khel committees chairmen Said Anwar and Ihsanullah said that Aka Khel tribe of Afridi has a land demarcation dispute with the dwellers of Matani, residents of outskirt of Peshawar however their opponents have suspended electricity from Matani grid station to the area for the last 33 days that is injustice to them.
The civilians have cut off the power supply to them that is equal to challenge writ of the government but no action has been taken against the culprits, they lamented.
We have convoyed our grievance to the stakeholders but to in avail, they remarked.
The protestors threatened that until resuming power supply to the area they will not give up their protest and will never reopen the road for traffic.
Because of the road blockage, long queues of vehicles especially the heavy trucks were witnessed at the roads.
