Mahmood Khan congratulates newly elected cabinet of PPC

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Mahmood Khan on Friday congratulated the newly elected cabinet of the Peshawar Press Club (PPC) and expressed good wishes for the new members. In a felicitation message the Chief Minister expressed hopes that the newly elected body and other members would play a key role in maintaining the tradition of professional journalism. It is to note here that M Riaz, was re-elected president of the PPC during the annual election.
He secured a record 317 votes to retain the seat whereas his rival, Fida Adeel, received 156 votes in the annual election. Rizwan Sheikh was elected vice-president by securing 257 votes he defeated Ehesham Bashir who bagged 210 votes in the annual election of PPC. Additionally, the Special Assistant to Chief Minister Barrister Muhammad Ali Khan Saif also arrived at PPC where he congratulated the newly elected cabinet.
While sharing his views with the journalist community Barrister Saif remarked that it’s a good notion that a democratic process is completed in a very mature way. The provincial government is providing all possible assistance to the journalists so they can carry out their professional activities free and fairly.
Congratulating the newly elected PPC President M Riaz for the second term, Special Assistant Saif stated that the newly elected cabinet will work more enthusiastically for the welfare of journalists.
He furthered that under the direction of the chief minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Department of Information and Public Relations has taken fruitful steps for the development and welfare of journalists in the province. Recently, the cabinet has approved the housing scheme for the journalists in Peshawar.
