PESHAWAR
A joint operation by the Excise Intelligence Bureau and Excise Police Stations Peshawar and Khyber led to the discovery of a factory producing ice and narcotic pills on Warsak Road.
During the raid, officials recovered approximately 50,000 narcotic pills over 500 additional pills and 2,500 grams of ice Tools and equipment used in the manufacturing process were also seized. Three suspects were arrested at the scene.
Initial investigations revealed that the factory had been supplying ice and narcotic pills to students of educational institutions and to private parties in upscale areas of the city.
The operation was launched following leads obtained during an earlier raid in Karkhano Market, where narcotic pills were recovered from another location.
The crackdown is being carried out under the directives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur following the province-wide anti-narcotics emergency.
The campaign is being supervised by Khalid Ilyas, Secretary Excise Department and Abdul Halim Khan, Director General Excise with the Narcotics Control Wing continuing daily actions against drug peddlers, dealers and facilitators.
The raid was led by Saud Khan Gandapur Provincial In-charge of the Excise Intelligence Bureau, and Majid Khan Excise and Taxation Officer (Narcotics Control), with support from Excise Police Station Khyber.
A case has been registered at Excise Police Station Khyber for further investigation and legal action.
Officials involved in the operation included Circle Officer Akif Khan SHO Peshawar Rasool Rehman Khattak SHO Khyber Shiraz Khan inspector Meraj Khan Abuzar Khan and other personnel.
