Provincial Food Minister Zahir Shah Toru on Saturday said that terrorism is on the rise in the province but the central government has left the province alone in this war.
The province is fighting terrorism and problems with its own resources. Speaking at the Meet-the-Press program at the Mardan press club he said that the province is currently facing the worst terrorism.
The police and forces are fighting the terrorists with their lives but lack of resources is a major obstacle in their way. He added that they are not getting the facilities that should be provided by the federation.
He added that making the approval of the Minerals and Mines Act conditional on the release of the founder of PTI is baseless propaganda. He added that the act will be approved with the approval of the PTI founder Imran Khan.
He added that there is no provision regarding minerals that the federation can use the powers of the province. He argued that PTI is the largest party of the country. He said that there are definitely differences of opinion in the party, but there is no grouping of any kind.
He added that the center is not giving us resources and rights. The funds of Rs 110 billion allocated for the merged districts have not been provided yet. He added that if this continues, the situation may become more serious.
Zahir Shah Toru said that after the February 8 general elections, two important responsibilities have come on the shoulders of PTI improving governance and protecting democratic freedoms.
He argued that despite the worst conditions PTI has played an exemplary role on both these fronts. He added that until the supremacy of the constitution and law is established in the country, development is not possible.
He added that they are fighting for the restoration of this constitutional and legal rule under the leadership of Ali Amin Gandapur. He added that the recent visit of the Chief Minister to Mardan is successful.
The Chief Minister announced development projects worth billions during his visit to Mardan, including more than Rs 6 billion for the construction of protective embankments around Kalpani, a cultural hall and a science museum, while funds were also released for the projects abandoned by the previous governments.
He said that the provincial cabinet has approved additional funds of Rs 33 billion for ADP Plus development works. He added that another Rs. 200 million has been released for Benazir Children’s Hospital while Mardan district will get more projects.
