Mardan Region’s football team has secured a place in the semi-finals of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa U-22 Games after an outstanding performance, setting up a high-stakes clash against Peshawar Region. In the quarter-final held at Tahamas Football Stadium, Mardan displayed exceptional skill and defeated Kohat Region convincingly.
Speaking to the media after the match, Shakeel Khan, the manager of the Mardan team and secretary of the Swabi District Football Association, expressed confidence in his players. On this occasion, he also presented shields and footballs to Basit Kamal, Secretary of the Provincial Football Association, Malik Hidayat-ul-Haq, and Chitral Association President Hussain Khan as a token of appreciation.
“Our players are in top form and fully fit. We will step onto the field with the same energy and determination in the semi-final,” Shakeel Khan stated.
Reflecting on the quarter-final performance, he emphasized that Mardan’s victory against Kohat was no ordinary feat. “Our players combined technical skill, speed, and smart tactics to claim a memorable win. We will replicate the same level of performance in the semi-final and, God willing, defeat Peshawar to reach the final.”
Shakeel Khan credited the team’s success to rigorous training and unwavering dedication. “The harmony between the coaching staff and players has significantly refined our performance. Our players are proving their abilities in every match with exceptional fitness and speed.”
Looking ahead to the semi-final against Peshawar Region, he predicted a thrilling contest but remained firm in his team’s ambition. “Our sole focus is victory, and we will enter the field with this mindset.”
He further stated that Mardan Region aims to create history in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa football through hard work and skill. Urging fans to support the team, he said, “Our success is not just for us but for the entire Mardan Region. We hope our players will deliver an unforgettable moment for the people of Mardan.”
