Hazara Region Defeats Peshawar 3-0 in Badminton; Provincial Minister Fazal Shakoor Khan Distributes Prizes

The thrilling competitions of the KP Under-22 Games continued on the third day. In the women’s table tennis event held at Abdul Wali Khan Sports Complex, Peshawar emerged victorious, defeating Mardan 3-0 in straight sets. The Peshawar team included Alishba, Hooria, Zainab, Adeena, and Gulalai.
The closing ceremony was graced by the Provincial Minister of Labor, Fazal Shakoor Khan, who distributed prizes among the winners. He was accompanied by Additional DG Sports Rashida Ghaznavi, Regional Sports Officer Kashif Farhan, District Sports Officer Charsadda Ms. Mishal Malik, former DSO Tahseen Ullah, Judo Association President Masuah Ahmed, and coaches Amna and Bushra, among other dignitaries.
In the women’s hockey final, Mardan secured the gold medal by defeating Peshawar. The final was highly competitive, with both teams launching continuous attacks on each other’s goals. Mardan managed to score two goals, while Peshawar failed to score.
In women’s volleyball, Mardan and Peshawar reached the final after defeating Hazara and Bannu, respectively.
Meanwhile, in the women’s badminton competition at Peshawar Sports Complex, Hazara’s players dominated, securing the championship by defeating Peshawar 3-0 in the final. The chief guest, Additional DG Sports Ms. Rashida Ghaznavi, distributed prizes among the winners. She was accompanied by Provincial Badminton Secretary Amjad Khan, coach Bushra, and Finance Secretary Mian Sadaqat Shah.
At Qamar Zaman Squash Complex, the women’s squash final saw a tough battle between Peshawar and Hazara. Peshawar clinched the gold medal with a 2-1 victory, while Hazara settled for silver. Senior coach and chief organizer Munawar Zaman, along with squash coaches Mr. Waseem Muhammad and Mr. Shakeel Ahmed, were also present at the event.
