Mayor sees donor support for quality education

Mayor Peshawar Haji Zubair Ali has pledged to ensure that no compromise will be made on the quality of education in the city’s government schools.
Speaking at a meeting, the Mayor emphasized the importance of improving the condition of primary and secondary schools in Peshawar with the help of donors. He assured that every effort would be made to provide schools with all necessary facilities.
The meeting was attended by DEO Education Irfan Khan, EDO Mian Arif, Tehsil Chairmen Haroon Sifat and Shah Alam Kaleemullah, and several school principals, focused on addressing the challenges faced by schools in the city.
Officials from various localities reported on the issues impacting schools in their areas, including inadequate infrastructure, lack of proper furniture, and the need for better facilities.
In response, DEO Education Irfan Khan assured the participants that the issues would be addressed promptly.
Discussions were held on improving drainage systems, upgrading furniture, installing solar energy solutions, and providing clean drinking water in schools.
Mayor Zubair Ali directed the DEO Education to prioritize the distribution of school kits to the institutions facing the most severe challenges, in order to address urgent needs.
Additionally, the Mayor issued instructions to take concrete steps toward improving the overall quality of education in Peshawar.
The Mayor’s office has also committed to working closely with donors to fund the necessary infrastructure improvements. The Mayor reiterated his dedication to ensuring that the city’s educational system receives the attention it deserves, promising all possible cooperation for the betterment of Peshawar’s government schools.
