Like elsewhere in the country, anti-Measles Rubella (German measles) drive kicked off in Khyber on Monday, Dr Faisal, District Health Officer (DHO), Khyber said.
He said that more than 184000 children aging between six months to five years will be vaccinated in the twelve days (17 Nov till 28 Nov,2025) long campaign
It is a nationwide campaign against the disease and the health teams will visit door to door along with government and private schools, religious seminaries, fix points and health facilities to vaccinate the children, he added.
Following the occurrence of excessive cases of Measles in 2025, the federal government decided to launch a nationwide campaign against the fatal disease, health officials said.
The officials maintained that schools that refuse to cooperate with the vaccination teams may face legal action.
In his public message, DHO appealed to the parents to protest their children against the fatal disease, Measles Rubella, by immunize them against it.
