Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister on Law and Parliamentary Affairs Aftab Alam Afridi Advocate has said that the media is like a mirror for the society but unfortunately now the media has also turned into a business. He said that he will wholeheartedly welcome criticism for reform, but will respond to the negative propaganda of opponents with his best performance.
He expressed these views while addressing the dinner given by the press club in honor of the elected members of assembly of Kohat at Kohat Press Club on Saturday night.
Chairman DDAC Kohat Shafi Jan MPA, Daud Shah Afridi MPA and President of Press Club Noor Muhammad Bangash also addressed the dinner. The elected members of the assembly announced a joint struggle for all the problems of the press club and journalists including the media colony.
The Law Minister said InshaAllah, the current 5-year term of the government will prove a real change for the development of Kohat. Despite stoppage of outstanding dues and non-cooperation of the Center, the under-construction building of Liaqat Memorial Hospital Kohat will be completed within 18 months at a cost of Rs. 2.5 Billions, he said. Similarly, the Cities Improvement Project worth Rs. 12 Billions will also be completed in 18 months, while its Phase-II is also under consideration, he furthered. He continued that funds have also been released for the widening of Kachhari Chowk to PAF Chowk Bannu Road and KDA Link Road. He disclosed, the plan of constructing a ring road is also under active consideration to control the traffic problem in Kohat.
The Minister maintained that shelter sheds are also being constructed for the relatives of the patients in the district headquarters hospital. Similarly, the installation of CT scan and MRI machine in the DHQ hospital has also been approved, he added. He said that we are trying hard to introduce good governance in every sector including health, education and police to ensure the provision of all possible facilities to the people.
Aftab Alam Advocate said that all the elected PTI members from Kohat have ideal harmony and unity and they do everything for the collective interest of the district with mutual cooperation and consultation. He declared, there will be no compromise on merit and the culture of corruption and commission will be eradicated in every way.
