Meeting reviews preparations for Joint External Evaluation in health sector

PESHAWAR: An important meeting held here on Tuesday with Director General (DG) Health Services Dr Shaukat Ali in the chair, reviewed preparations for the Joint External Evaluation. The representatives of Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination, Islamabad, Joint Team of Public Health Experts, National Institute of Health and partner organizations including World Health Organization (WHO), United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and United Kingdom Health Security Agency (UKHSA) attended the meeting. The forum reviewed the ongoing preparation of Joint External Evaluation, integration of DHIS II, progress on IDSRS, surveillance of vaccine-preventable diseases through Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI), progress on surveillance under TB control program in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The meeting also reviewed progress so far made regarding the integrated vector control and Malaria Control Programme, the integration of provincial disease surveillance and the response to universal health coverage. Later on, the joint team of the Federal Ministry of Health also visited the Provincial Disease Surveillance and Response Unit and the Public Health Reference Lab located at Khyber Medical University.
